Reminder about payment cards that are about to expire
Create a rule that reminds your customers that their payment card is about to expire.
Intro
In this article, we describe step-by-step how to create a smart rule that sends an automatic email to a member whose payment card is about to expire.
Based on this example, the email will be sent one month before the debit card expires and then it will be sent once more approx. 15 days before the card expires. So every user profile with a registered card that is about to expire will receive the email twice (unless they have updated to a valid card of course!)
Do this:
Go to Settings > Smart Rules.
Tap the plus icon in the upper right corner to add a new smart rule.
Select trigger
The first step is to choose what type of event in the system will trigger the rule. Select the option "All users, once per day".
Now it's time to set up the smart rule.
Start by filling in "Name", in this example we have chosen to name the rule "Debit cards that expire". On the right there is a checkbox to activate the rule, check it and the rule will take effect when it is created.
Under filtering, first press the " Add comparison " button.
In the first drop-down list, select: "User - Has active Subscription".
In the second drop-down list, select: "Yes".
(In the top drop-down list where you choose between "and" or "or", leave "and" as is).
Then press the " Add comparison " button again.
In the first drop-down list, select "Default payment method - Payment method"
In the second drop-down list, select "=".
In the third drop-down list, select "Card Payment".
Then press the "Add comparison" button again.
In the first drop-down list, select "Default payment method - Expires "
In the second drop-down list, select "Within days forward".
In the third drop-down list, select " 30 ".
Then press the " Add comparison " button again.
In the first drop-down list, select "Default payment method - Status"
In the second drop-down list, select "= ".
In the third drop-down list, select "Active".
It should now look like the image below:
